SUDI

Greeting

Sustainable Urban Development Institute(SUDI) was established in January, 2005 to study urban and local issues and to develop policy alternatives and knowledge for professionals and researchers.

Cities has become the main field of residence, economy, society, culture and politics. This situation will be accelerated as long as the majority of people live in cities. Therefore, SUDI conducts various studies related to urban and local issues such as local autonomy, decentralization, village community, urban and local governance, local finance, local environmental policy, environmental governance, urban planning, housing/community development, sustainability, social capital, and disaster·risk management. In addition, SUDI makes database of urban information.

Through this, SUDI identifies the current status and characteristics of urban and local governance in Korea, and strives to solve practical problems for urban development. In addition, SUDI expands and shares our network with domestic and foreign practitioners, scholars, research institutes, NGOs, and other civic organizations, which are related to Korean urban and local research. SUDI looks forward to active interest and exchange with you who are interested in the city and the region.
